On the 11th hour on the 11th day in 1918 the guns finally fell silent that marked the end of the Great War, World War 1. Every year this is commemorated at the same time and same day with a two minute silence in honour of those who fought and all those who have fallen in battle, not only in the Great War but for all battles and conflicts over the years, Which have allowed us to be here today.

This year marks the centenary of the start of World War 1, and to pay tribute and commemorate all those that have sacrificed their lives, we will be holding two ceremonies on the 11th November here at HRC. One will be at the Broxbourne Campus and one will be held at the Ware Campus, led by the staff and students of the Uniformed Public Service Courses.  The college would like to invite all staff and students to join us to pay thanks, respect and to commemorate all those that sacrificed so much.
